Our brand is 30 years old...
On the 1st October 1979, the TransGlobal brand was launched. Its name came
from the merger of two businesses, Global Airfreight Limited and Trans
Continental Air Limited and formed the core of what is today - TransGlobal
Freight Management Limited.
Of course the Group at that time had been trading far longer, tracing its origins
back to the 1920’s. During this period companies well known in the freight
industry, namely Comprehensive Shipping Limited, dealing mainly with European
road freight, Stephenson & Ephgrave Limited and Knight & Morris Limited, both
handling ocean freight and chartering business, were the original companies that
later formed the TransGlobal Group of Companies.
The TransGlobal brand logo commenced life as the famous tail plane, which
served the business well until the mid 1990’s when a new logo was launched and
has served the company well ever since. In 2008 the strong TransGlobal brand was
also taken up by the parent company of TransGlobal, changing its name from Moran
Holdings PLC to TransGlobal PLC, to better represent the current trading
portfolio of the Company.
