On the 1st October 1979, the TransGlobal brand was launched. Its name came from the
merger of two businesses, Global Airfreight Limited and Trans Continental Air Limited
and formed the core of what became TransGlobal Freight Management Limited.
Of course the Group at that time had been trading far longer than this, tracing
its origins back to the 1920’s. During this period companies well known in the freight
industry, namely Comprehensive Shipping Limited, dealing mainly with European road
freight, Stephenson & Ephgrave Limited and Knight & Morris Limited, both
handling ocean freight and chartering business, were the original companies that
later formed the TransGlobal Group of Companies.
